Hi, I’m Clare! I am a Biological Sciences and Health Adviser for the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST). I produce impartial briefings, designed to make scientific research accessible to the UK Parliament.

Previously, I was an academic researching processes that underpin skilled reading and voice identification. I have a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, which was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and supervised by Professor Kathy Rastle at Royal Holloway University of London. I also completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Professor Carolyn McGettigan at University College London (UCL).

I have a special interest in working on projects that incorporate science policy and data science. I also enjoy solving problems with data-driven solutions, and have experience in programming languages Python and R. Please get in touch if you are interested in working on a project together!
